Memberships
CATEGORIES OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS AND HONOURS
Full Member
A person is eligible for Member status if that person holds the qualifications necessary to practise as a Dental Prosthetist and is registered in one or more States/Territories to legally have contact directly with the public.
Full Members may either be
(a) Practising, in which case, unless exempt from that requirement they must maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance, or;
(b) Non-Practising.
Student
A person is eligible for Student Membership if that person is not yet eligible for professional membership grading but is undertaking a course of study that will enable registration as a Dental Prosthetist.
Student Members may take part in any discussion of business of any meeting of the Corporation but may not vote at any such meeting.
Retired Member
A person is eligible for Retired Membership if that person has held a membership of the Corporation in good standing for at least 12 months but is not practising.
Life Member
The Corporation may at a meeting of the Board elect as honorary life member of the Corporation any Dental Prosthetist who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the cause of Dental Prosthetists.
Any organisation affiliated with the Corporation may make a recommendation to the Board of the Corporation that one or more of its members may be elected as an honorary life member of the Corporation. If unanimously approved by the Board the nominee shall be declared a life member (either as a Non Practising Member or a Practising Member) and notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained shall be entitled to all privileges of the Corporation without payment of further subscription.
Honorary Members
A General Meeting of the Board may elect any past Member of the Corporation or suitable person as an Honorary Member. All Honorary Members shall be entitled to attend all meetings of the Corporation and may take part in any discussion of business of any meeting of the Corporation but may not vote at any such meeting.
Affiliate
The category of Affiliate is open to all personnel within the dental profession,
e.g. dentists, dental technicians, practice managers, chair side assistants, hygienist and therapists. The category of Affiliate is open to persons who have expressed a desire to be involved with the ADPA and those who would like to participate in education and receive information.
Affiliate members may take part in any discussion of business of any meeting of the Corporation but may not vote at any such meeting.
Associate
A person is eligible for Associate Membership if that person is a member in good standing of any of the Corporate Members of ADPA or of the International Federation of Denturists and subsequently applies to be a Associate member with respect to a further Corporate Member, in which case the Membership fee for the additional State or Territory shall be as an Associate Member and at a reduced fee. Associate Members may take part in any discussion of business of any meeting of the Corporation but may not vote at any such meeting.
